October 9, 1999 - Saturday
It was an okay, kind of quiet day - at work. I only had my two double classes, so
I prepped like mad for Wednesday, and for Tuesday too. Unfortunately I don't get
a long weekend, even though everyone else does!
My Millennium B class was really genki yesterday, and to be fair, so was my Atlas
A class. The classes went quite well I think.
Hitomi left for Osaka right after work, and I got ready for the party. It wasn't
an official goodbye party of course, without Hitomi or letting more students know,
that would be rude.
However, in the words of The Irish Rovers-
Wasn't that a Party?
We went to Shimi's restaurant and had great sushi, tempura and sashimi, and okay,
a few drinks as well. I had ONE. I wasn't drunk, really I wasn't!
Then, we went to karaoke. I was really impressed. Most of my students came too.
Even Koichi, who has never come to karaoke with me in the 2.5 years that I've been
here! Maybe it's because most of his class was there, so he knew some people besides
me? Anyway, we sang a lot--everybody did. I sang a lot of stuff that people knew, Modern
Girl, YMCA, Wild World, The Banana Boat Song.....stuff. It was a hoot.
We called it a night around 4:00 am. It was a great party. I only wish that we didn't
have to have it. Hopefully the official party will be as much fun.
Sorry I wrote this late, but I was in no state to write when I got home. I was really
tired.
