As I said in an earlier post, one thing that I had the opportunity to do while I was in Honduras was to perform with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. I actually performed with them twice. The first time was in the National Theatre and the second time was at the Marriot Hotel. Here is a photo of Fausto Varela, a guitar student at the National University and his girlfriend, Jackeline Valenzuela, a piano student at the National University. This was taken at a pre-concert dinner at the Marriot, just before the orchestra concert.

In the month of August, Fausto's family graciously allowed me to stay in their home. I first met Fausto in 2004 when he came to study with me at the Masterworks Festival in Winona Lake, Indiana. http://www.masterworksfestival.org  He is an oustanding guitarist and it has been a pleasure to watch him mature and develop as an artist over the past three years. I believe that Fausto will have a very bright future.
