If you answered yes to either of these questions, I think you will truly be interested in the rest of the information I have to offer you.
I have been a school bus driver in Texas for the past 23 years. I raised three children driving the bus and now I am looking forward to my grandchildren starting school. However, I would like to share with you my concerns regarding the health and safety problems we are experiencing in Texas as a direct result of the extreme hot weather and lack of air-conditioning on our buses.
Before each school year begins, our transportation director holds a meeting to remind us of all the important things we need to remember in order to deliver our "Precious Cargo" safely.
There is a profound statement in our Transportation Department's handbook, which serves as a reminder to us as to the importance of our jobs as drivers.
Those words weigh very heavily on my mind every time I get behind the wheel of that bus. Therefore, I am hoping that you will take the time to go through the information I am posting in this report. Make yourself aware and maybe you can help us bring and end to the safety issues involved.
It was also reported to me by an animal control officer that the state of Texas already has mandatory temperature requirements for the animals in the pound as well as in the trucks which the animals are transported.
That temperature in almost that of air-conditioning. It seems the animal activists have stood up to protect the animals of Texas.
