QUESTION:

Salaam Alaikum,

     Before I ask you the question, I am going to tell you how this question 
arose in my mind.  I am very sorry if this takes a little of your time but this 
I feel is very important information related to my question.

Situation:  I started doing Taqlid of Aga Khui.  When he passed away, I was on 
holidays in East Africa, and as soon as I got the news of the death, the word 
was that we had choosen Aga Gulpaygani to be our Marja. And so I changed my 
taqlid to Aga Gulpaygani.  Then after a short time we heard of his death and I 
was told that we are now doing taqlid of Aga Seestani.  So I changed my Taqlid 
again.

Just Last week I was talking with a couple of my  friends and they informed me 
that it was Aga Seestani's fatwa that whoever was doing the taqlid of Aga Khui 
can continue with that and only for new fatwas can one ask Aga Seestani.  My 
question is:

Question:  Who's taqlid am I supposed to do?  Am I still doing the
taqlid of Aga Khui even though I had changed my niyyat or am I supposed to 
follow Aga Seestani?

Please let me know of this as soon as possible because the question of taqlid is 
very important.  I would like for you to adress this drectly to me on my e-mail 
code stated below.  I would like this question answered by Dr. Lyakat Takim, or 
if he's not available it can be answered by anyone.

Salaamun 'Alaykum,

According to Ayatullah Seestani, if you believe that Ayat. al-Khu'i was
most learned (a'lam) whilst alive and that he was more learned than those
Maraji' who are alive then you should revert to following the rulings of
Ayatullah al-Khu'i unless new issues arise. In the new issues, you will
follow the rulings of the most learned marja' alive.
