Regards Abbas Jaffer Moderator - 'Alim Network ................................................................ Question: I am a student here in the US. I have no intention of staying here permanently, and still consider Tehran to be my hometown. I live about 100 miles away from my mother, and I visit her every weekend. I do not own the house I live in, and neither does she. I will be studying at the same school for the next two years. Do I have to shorten my prayers at my own home, my mother's home, both, or neither? I was not able to extract the answer from the risala. Please answer according to Ayatullah Khu'i, Sistani, or Rohani. ................................................................. Answer: Since you will be living at your place of study for 2 years, you will pray full prayers. However, when you visit your mother, you must pray shortened (Qasr) prayers.
