Salaams & Duas Ummulbanin Merali - Moderator - 'Aalim Network ******************************************************************************* QUESTION: I have heard that raisins- dried grapes- are not to be cooked very much for they would become haram. I have heard that if we are to cook them in oil, they should not be wet with water, and if they are in oil, they should not change taste and give off their liquor in the oil. I don't know to what extent this is true; and if it is, what is the correct way of cooking raisins? (I follow the Laws of Ayat. Sistani) ANSWER: The above mas'ala applies to fresh grapes or grape juice. As for raisins, they will remain paak and halal to eat.
