Wasalaam, Mustafa Rawji Moderator, 'Aalim Network ----------------------------------------------------------------------- QUESTION: Bismillah rahman irraheem Salaam Qn: This question is about the sinlessness of the Prophets(as). It is believed that all the Prophets are ma'soom; and do not commit sins. However, the story of Adam when he was banished to earth for not obeying the command of Allah(swt), does this mean he(as) committed a SIN? Please comment on this. Thank you ANSWER: Hazrat Adam did not commit any sin. What he did was TARKE AWLA, which means "abandoning that which was better". A detailed discussion on the sinlessness of all the Prophets exists in several English books, and this has been amply explained. Asgharalli M.M. Jaffer
