Salaams & Duas Ummulbanin Merali - Moderator - 'Aalim Network **************************************************************************** *** QUESTION: I have a question with respect to Namaz-e-Shab, could it be answered according to the rules of Ayatullah Seestani? With regards to Namaz-e-Shab, when is time that this namaz should be recited? Is there a minimum/maximum time before Subhu that it should be recited? Next question is about maghrib/isha namaz. When is this namaz considered to be kaza? For example, magrib time is at 7:00pm. It is kaza at 12:00am (midnight) or before namaz-e-shab or before subhu namaz? ANSWER: According to Ayatullah Seestani, the time for Namaze Shab is from midnight till Adhan time for Fajr prayers, and it is better to offer it nearer the time of Fajr prayers. In normal situation, the time for Maghrib and Isha is till midnight. Midnight is to be calculated as the middle time from Maghrib to Fajr. If a person delays due to illness or a Haez woman is delayed in becoming Pak, then the same time will continue till before Fajr prayers. Asgharali M.M. Jaffer
