An Author's Comment

This book is not a personal attack upon Roman Catholics or any individuals.  It is an exposè of a corrupt system, which God is calling honest Catholics out of.  "Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Revelation 18:4.

Following, I relate a few of many experiences, which I have had with my Catholic friends and family.

My wife is of Croatian Catholic and Irish Catholic blood.  That makes my children half Croatian and Irish, so there is no animosity against Croats, Irish, Catholics or any man.  My wife studied the Bible and found that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ was needed.  She rejected the system of bondage which the Roman Catholic church had placed upon her, from as far back as her Catholic school days.  Her hearts desire is that her Roman Catholic relatives and friends might see the deception behind the outward splendour in the church, and find Christ personally as a free gift by faith. (Ephesians 2:8,9.)

My lawyer is a Roman Catholic of Irish origin.  He may think I am a little odd in religious matters, but he never send me a bill for all the work he has done for me over the years.

Years ago, I worked for a Roman Catholic valuer and second hand dealer, who was a well-known racing commentator.  A better gentleman you could not find.  I remember the fun we had valuing the chattels in hotels for death duties or sale.  My job was to write down the contents as my boss rattled them off, as if he was calling a horse race.

I played rugby football for a Roman Catholic club. You would not come across a better bunch of guys.  In one of my first senior games, at quite a young age, I was knocked out from behind, in a lineout by a huge fellow, who played lock for the New Zealand Maori rugby team.  My friend who was half his size swung around and K'Oed this man with one punch, such was out close friendship of looking after each other.

One of my heroes was a Roman Catholic bank manager of Irish origin, yet he never knew it.  He was the most efficient manager there ever was, yet he had a compassion for those who owed the bank money.  I remember one weekend he rounded me up to help him load scrap metal at an old cripple's place who owed the bank money.  Most of the debt was paid off, and the small remainder scrapped.  He was a survivor of the Battle of Casino.  One hundred and thirty of his company had gone in, and he was one of the thirty to get out, although wounded.  A little while after the battle he was given leave, along with other Catholic soldiers, in order to visit the Pope.  When he arrived home in New Zealand his dear old mother, who was a staunch Catholic, asked her son, "What did the Holy Father say to you son?"  My friend, who was the best joke teller I ever knew said,  "The Pope said to me, mother, 'Hello Kevin, does your father still work for the Gore Borough Council?'"  This went right over his poor mother's head, (i.e. the Pope was infallible and knew all about him, his dad and what he did!)

Most of my Catholic friends no longer believe they have confess their sins to a priest. Many have read that they are not to call the priests 'Father', "And call no man father upon the earth; for one is your Father, which is in heaven".  -Matthew 23:9.  Many are now doing what even the Catholic Bible tells them to do, "Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good".   -II Thessalonians 44:21.   Others are finding, from their study, that Mary is dead, along with the saints awaiting the resurrection when Jesus returns. ( I Thessalonians 4:16-18.)  They are finding salvation only in Jesus Christ as stated, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God a men, the man Christ Jesus".  - I Timothy 2:5.   They are also finding that the Mass, which the church holds in the highest esteem, is a deception, for Christ, the Bible says, died once, "For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but that he liveth, he liveth unto God".  -Romans 6:10.  Christ does not die every day as the Mass indicates. Our heart felt prayer is that out Catholic friends might see the deception in the church, and obey God by "coming out of her my people". (Revelation 18:4).
