Balue the Dog

Balue is my hostparents' dog. A fine dog, he is the best dog I've ever met. According to Bunny — my hostfather — he is an English springer spaniel, a kind of working dog used to be employed for hunting.

What made Balue special is his attitude. Before meeting him, I thought that all dogs bark to strangers. The only way to avoid biting is to move slowly, building "trust" in the dog's heart.
Balue did bark when we first met. Very furiously! Moreover, he was so excited. He even jumped to me and put his front legs on my stomach, if I'm not mistaken (but I'm sure he did so in one occasion or two). "Great!" I thought. "A crazy dog!" However, it turned out that Balue is a gentle dog. He doesn't bite. Even if i place my hand right into his mouth, he will only pretend to bite it. Then, he will start licking it.

He likes walking a lot.
But he likes running better.
No, he likes swimming best.

Ricarda — my hostmother — once showed me the dogs' version of beauty contest on TV. But to our opinion, Balue is the most beautiful dog in the world! ^^ So, here you can see a glimpse of him. I drew this as a memento for my hostparents, so I won't show the full-size picture. But you can see some details I selected.
Enjoy!

Balue has a pair of gentle, sometimes sad, eyes.

His ears are covered with fine fur. It gave me hard time rendering. However, it turned out nicer than I expected =)
