Dodge This

I have always wanted to draw this since the day I got the screen capture from the internet. I drew this during school holiday, before which Ju-Lian of Rules of Make Believe had "Ju-trinity" as her MSN messenger nickname (it was still the aftermath of The Matrix: Reloaded). I thought that it was an excellent opportunity to draw this: I got to draw her a non-fanart thing while drawing what I've always wanted to draw.

While I was drawing this (especially while rendering, the pencilling was simply frustrating), the scene kept playing in my mind... I must have been crazy... But I still think the scene was great :D

Overall, I am happy with this drawing. The proportions and shapes seem to be correct. The outlines makes it looks as if a bright sun is shining on her (which was in the screen capture, well, apart from the fact that the sun did not exist in the Matrix...). The shading of the clothes convey the shiny material (I think), while the glasses are not bad, either.
Perhaps the one thing that can be improved is the face. Trinity looks like a young boy here. And I hate myself for accidentally smudged a small piece of pencil carbon onto the middle of the forehead, creating that funny-looking mark.

Dimension: A5 (21 x 14.8 cm)
Paper: printing paper
Pencils: 2B mechanical, 6B, 2B, and HB genuines
Work duration: around two or three days for pencilling (with most time dedicated to refining, especially the facial lines) plus around four days of rendering
Date finished: 4 June 2003

PS: Are you reading this, Ju? It's one more free plug! (although not that great of a plug...)
