Fashion Sketches #0

Being a member to an online forum, I had more chance to compare my own drawings with other people's. I think one of my weaknesses is my lack of experience in drawing "real people" -- that is, people I get to see in my daily life, not some character in a fictious universe. This drew me to drawing the following sketches.

The skteches are, well, sketches. They were intended to be quick works. Contrary to what I usually do, I did not concentrate on details. I only wanted to capture the shapes, the pose, and the clothes. I did not care too much on accuracy of the expressions. Although viewers may find them ugly, I personally like them almost as much as I like other finished works.

Dimension: A5 (14.8 x 21.0 cm)
Paper: A5 memo pad paper
Pencils: HB genuine with very few lines of 2B mechanical
Work duration: I forgot; around 1 hour I guess
Date finished: 25 December 2003 -- Christmas Day! :)
Comment: I like this sketch for the pose. I think it was an ad in a fashion magazine I borrowed from National Library...
Although she seems to wear trousers, she really wears a dress.

Added coloured work on 13 Sept 2004

Software: Open Canvas 3
Comment: My second try on Open Canvas (OC). I followed the colour scheme in the reference picture as closely as possible. As my sketch IS messy, I coloured it only to capture the overall feel and paid not so much attention to details. Oh, and I tried OC's noise filter to simulate the texture on her skirt. Without knowing the reference image, it looks okay. If you know the reference, however... ^^;
Dimension: A6 (10.5 x 14.8 cm)
Paper: A5 memo pad paper
Pencils: HB genuine
Work duration: 20-30 minutes
Date finished: 26 December 2003
Comment: This was a small photo in the same fashion magazine as the one I described above. I was attracted by the model's nose, chin, and hairstyle...
Dimension: A6 (10.5 x 14.8 cm)
Paper: A5 memo pad paper
Pencils: 2B mechanical and HB genuine
Work duration: 1 hour
Date finished: 5 February 2004
Comment: Well, I drew this one quite with quite long a time difference from the previous two. Perhaps this does not really belong to this group.
Anyway, the reference was an image I found from the Internet. If the previous two models were European, this girl is Japanese. I was attracted by her "office look" :D She was crossing a street in the image.
Dimension: A6 (10.5 x 14.8 cm)
Paper: A5 memo pad paper
Pencils: 2B mechanical and HB genuine
Work duration: around 45 minutes
Date finished: 6 February 2004
Comment: I drew this right after the previous one. So why the date difference, you ask? That's because I drew them around midnight ;)
The reference was also an image I found from the Internet, and the girl is also Japanese (and believe me, the model is much prettier than my sketch). Again, I was attracted by her outfit.

Any comments, suggestions or critics?
