Embrace Deception
|
This is my second exercise on pen drawing. After examination ended, I decided to draw this picture. I got the idea for around two weeks before that, when Julian of RoMB said that she liked The Matrix: Revolutions. After reading all bad reviews on newspapers as well as equally bad comments other forum-goers, this was a big relief to me. I personally think that Revolutions was a just right ending for the story. It even made me want to watch Reloaded, which disappointed me, once more.
Anyway, back to the picture. The characters are RoMb characters. The one on the left is Chen Meng-San; the dog is Rudi, San's pet; the baldie on the right is Azman Iskandar, San's best friend (I guess Azman has to compete with Rudi to get the title San's Best Friend, heh... Don't get the joke? Errr, well...). I used a reference for the poses. It was a small, low quality image I found from the web.
Again, background is my weakness. I wanted to convey the bullet ripples using curves. The area on the left near San's face was my starting point. See how I got impatient and drew the lines further and further away from one another? And also, notice how some lines are way too think for their own good? As lacking as this picture is, it did taught me how to play around with long curves and line thickness. I think the "dizzy" effect due to variation of line thickness is the only thing that saves this picture.
