This was an entry for a Wish^3 fanart contest. There was no theme and I had this idea 6 months back, so I decided to draw it. The idea is actually how I thought the main situation of the webcomic (well, perhaps an over-simplified version of it) was.

The story is about how Basil Toback handled his "gift" of three wishes. The catch was that after the third wish, he'd lose his most precious thing in his life: life itself. Worse still, he found out that his family has plot to get his three wishes for themselves all along. Together with his best friend, Paige, and his eldest brother (the only person nice to Basil in his family), Gabe, Basil travelled through the history of his family line, trying to figure out how to let himself out of his gift (or, in another sense, his curse).

The character who made the travel possible was a female kitsune (a Japanese word for a fox spirit, I guess) named Himitsu. As the story progresses, we see that she was herself another victim of this curse on Toback bloodline. The latest development when I drew this was the appearance of Mitei, a mysterious character who seemed to know the whole story behind the curse and Hitmitsu's past.

My idea was to depict Basil's struggle, how Himitsu actually wanted to help him in the midst of her own troubles and the shadow of Mitei at the background. Thus, the composition of the picture below (I hope you can figure out who is Basil, Himitsu and Mitei...).
