Scoutmaster’s minute
The first of January was dedicated by the Romans to their God of Gates and Doors, Janus. Janus has a distinctive appearance in that he is commonly depicted with two faces...one regarding what is behind and the other looking toward what lies ahead. Lets all look back on a good scouting year of 2003; more importantly lets take the lessons of 2003 and make 2004 an even better year.
Lines from a poem by Lewis Carroll:
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
I don’t know what your Jabberwock may be, but be careful its out there!
