Val's Poems

These are two poems written by Valerie McBean (I think she's married now though). The first one is called
Search me O' Lord. The second one I have no title for.

Search me O' Lord, know my heart,
Search me, every part,
Try me, know my thoughts,
Remove from me any evil plots,
Teach me, O' Lord Thy way,
For on Thee do I wait all the day,
In thy righteousness O' Lord lead me,
That my trust be solely in Thee,
Help me make the choice,
To listen to the sweetness of your voice,
To forsake all those behind,
To finish the race, the reward to find,
Lift me up to be strong,
To smile, laugh, though the day be long,
Reach me where I am,
Lift me, carry me as a lamb,
Back to Thy fold,
Where Thy glory I behold.

"Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 3:13-14

The moon shines bright at night,
the stars add their splendous light,
the silence so hard to comprehend,
as another day comes to an end,
Thoughts in your mind reflect on the day,
with it's bustle, no silence to pray,
Yet, the Lord is your delight,
as you kneel to pray at night,
To be grateful for a hand so strong,
That guided you all day long,
As you lay upon your bed,
May thoughts of God remain in your head,
May His love fill your heart,
As you, in sleep depart.
                      -- By Valerie

"My mouth shall praise Thee with joyful lips: When I remember Thee upon my bed."
Psalm 63:5-6
