Why I joined Shadow Legion as told by Mistress Edwina Dirks Sterne Well, the first time I came across Shadow Legion, I don't think they were Shadow Legion. I went to a Feast of Eagles back in the 80's (we came from Houston to Jackson, Mississippi, so I don't know who was king then). I was dating a squire of Sir Francois and 3 of us went to the event. (Sir Francois got wrapped in toilet paper if that pinpoints which Feast it was.) I didn't actually met Kane or Ilissa then but heard about them. I think they had been on the throne once. Then came Gulf War I and Ilissa ran a dance and drum competition. She was a lot of fun (still is of course!) and we had a mutual interest in the dance. So we met every year at Gulf War. Then we moved to Meridies and were expecting to stay there for many years. I took Ilissa as my apprentice because I believe she has what it takes to be a Laurel. Needless to say, living in the same kingdom I saw her and Kane more often. At a Pennsic, Ilissa got me hooked on mimosa drinks! But we were in Meridies only for 2 and a half years and ended up in Calontir. When Ilissa told me Ailghenan was fighting for her in Crown, I promised to come to Coronation. When he won, I decided to go to as many events as I could, which turned out to be less then expected after my husband's flying accident. Ilissa asked me if I wanted to be in Shadow Legion this past summer and I said yes. Gosh, that was easy! And I am playing more in Meridies than in Calontir lately. Jesse is much, much better and can take care of himself now, so I get to go to events more. Shadow Legion is a great household, great people, great parties and I am honored to be a part.
