chorus
I like coffee, I like grits.
I like girls with great big bank accounts,
I am off to border raids.

I)
I loaded up in the car one day,
went to the border raid,
I think of all the dough I spent,
and I didn't even get to fight.

chorus

II)
I met a girl in the street today
in the household of Duke Rojob.
We went walking later and
she gave me a phone number.

chorus

III)
I went out on the field today,
and many times got hit!
the marshal looked me in the eye,
and said "you fight like a minstrel!"

chorus

IV)
I have a gentle sweetheart,
and to find her took some luck.
she really likes my cooking,
and she really likes to sew.

chorus

(alternate chorus)
got no coffee,
got no grits,
I have got depleted bank accounts
spent it all at border raids!!!
