Fall Asleep Deeply, Time Garden, and A Subtle Mood
------------------------------
Fall Asleep Deeply
(by Sandra Pancoast)
Plunging into the abyss,
like lead shot to unfathomed depths,
atmosphere torn from the vacuum,
time sundered from space,
and we, locked in the falling,
held in plummet,
in mystery delve,
in philosophy embrace,
and twined in our dreamings,
by sinking, rise.

Time Garden
(by Sandra Pancoast)
The world on a hinge swings open,
like a door to galaxies strewn across
the midnight universe.
Starlight lingers in the pools,
where ferns grow yellow green,
against the velvet shadows,
and there dwell the curls of leaf,
and flowers violet-periwinkle,
captions of text invisibly writ,
beneath the boughs,
and submerged in the glowing water.

A Subtle Mood
(by Sandra Pancoast)
Staring up into the brilliance of oblivion,
true space, yet undiscovered,
perpetually waits eternities.
Meanwhile, we revel in the inverse
of atoms and elements, and written
in the stars is an invisible pattern,
tapped out in Morris code,
between the spots of light,
distance dwindling in retrospect,
from one sphere of fire to the next.
Sounds escape the realms of gravity,
and ebb out in endless waves across
the expanse of galaxies,
spiraling in a sphere of stars,
coalescing in a nebula,
and hearts forming emotions,
in the strands and webs of time.
