Sun and Moon and Like Shadows in the Cool of Shade

Sun and Moon
(by S.L. Pancoast)
Stare up at a white sliver,
a tiny clip of crescent moon
hung in the dark-blue,
half-night sky,
then glancing westward,
where fading sun-color
still roses turquoise horizon,
wonder why I'm so amazed
that sun and moon
should share at once
our tiny space of infinite sky.

Like Shadows in the Cool of Shade
(by S.L. Pancoast)
The world is too brilliant to always wax poetic,
like shadows in the cool of shade,
whilst the sun in shimmer breaks the waves
to crystal patterns shattered,
and pondering, wanders morose
through the bracken dense,
the shadowed climb and arid plain,
and through Willow'wisp, my forest shelter,
sylvan by the soaring heights.
