nder Grand Lodge rules and regulations no more than 5 candidates may be provided their degrees simultaneously. That leads, of course, to discussion over the Grand Lodge one day classes. "Why is it that individual lodges can only run 5 at a time on one degree but Grand Lodge can run a hundred guys on three degrees?!" Good question, but unless we somehow get special dispensation, we'll just have to line the classes up and 'Git 'er done'. [And under the heading of 'It could be worse', this in from a brother in Arkansas: One candidate at a time, every time, for the complete degree. In Arkansas, it would have taken 21 separate sessions to get all the spring session brothers raised!] "We'll plan to have a degree the first and third Tuesdays in September and October," explains Chris, "then we'll have the Master Mason on the second and third Saturdays in November. That'll stay away from Thanksgiving weekend."
o with seven brothers already raised in the Spring (Steve Long, Monty Wilson, Jared Labonte, Travis Vandale, Dean Whitsett, Ken Trubee, and Charlie Fitch) along with 3 new affiliates (Mark Sciola, Stu Stoyanovich, and Richard Palazzo), if the promised petitions arrive and are approved, we could add 20 brothers to the Moosup Lodge rolls this year. And no matter what Worshipful Chris has to say, that is a good problem to have. Git 'er done!! m
