Millennium man has spoken many times before about the arts, how art is, inherently, a tool to make visible all life around us, to be captured and held for a moment in time, a moment that can last, for millennia to come. This passion for life is within us all, whether we admit it consciously or not. There is something in a true piece of art that arouses us, flirts with us, soothes us or pisses us off. That's the intention, not to explain anything at all, but to make us feel. . . Whether it's a pre-Columbian fertility god or an abstract man, a Manet or a Mapplethorpe, the intent is to get our attention and make us think about the moment. For a piece to go unnoticed is an artist's failure and he will be the first to admit that.
