Hot exhaust chokes
The cool summer night.
Radio blaring,
Cold beer frothing,
Rubber streaks black
On pavement white.

Cruising boulevards
Two cars racing.
Gears shifting,
Accelerating,
Blue lights strobing
The trooper chasing.

Stop light! Veering,
Spinning, holding breath.
Windshield smashing,
Ripped steel sparking.
Numb, skull thud, shudder
Of fiery death.
