No Drama

We argued, you cried,
you yelled, I didn't want to hear you,
you wanted reasons and answers
why I didn't want to be near you.

I just don't feel like that,
you asked why "I" let it go so far,
take your own responsibility
for the man you really are.

I took a chance on us
and it didn't work out,
you tried to state your case
but with any logic? I doubt.

You scrambled and rambled,
said you'd been through this before
I cut you off, the bottom line is
I don't want to see you anymore.

It was easier than I thought
maybe because I started with a wall
already in place around me
but you still love me, cold heart and all?

I believe we're better off this way,
just to walk away and forget the pain
please, spare me the drama,
it’s the only way to keep me sane.
