Direction

Once you leave, there's no coming back
no starting over anew
no picking up where you left off
nothing at all left there for you.

The path seldom leads back
you may never travel the road not taken
mapping the direction is a choice
with a consequence if you're mistaken.

For every action, there is an equal
and opposite reaction, to balance cost
find your way and there you are
but if not, then you're lost.

We are rich in goodbyes now
nothing in life is free
I'm hoping now you find your way
because it doesn't follow me.
