Conversations With Nature
Ms. Willow, weeping for no one
weep for me today
as if I have nowhere to go
let me hold you if I may
let's reach to the sky
into the clouds of gray
if you could speak,
what would you say?
Hello, you big bright ball
millions of miles away
but so warm, you are, you warm
my skin, pink from your golden ray.
I see you peeking through
these clouds that hide your face
you shoot down to the earth, I stand
in awe of your amazing grace.
Good morning, shiny Grass
sparkling with early dew
may I walk barefoot awhile
here on top of you?
You feel so good there
sticking between my toes
cooling and freeing, a feeling
only the barefoot knows.
Afternoon, fellow Rain
how are you this eve?
You are needed and welcome here
please continue on, don't leave
touch my face and cool my skin
I'll open my mouth and let you in
quench my thirst, moisten now and then
when I'm overheated and dry, come again.
Darkness, we are friends still
I have not left you alone
allow me to come sit beside you
you know you are my home.
You are like the creek
in which I cast a tiny stone
a little piece of me, but grand
you, the only part I've truly known.
I gave you stars
and you gave me a smile
though I spread myself out thin
come, let's sit and talk awhile.
