YOU

In a world of mixed up craziness,
backwards folks without a clue
I'm so glad that there is you

The leaders caught up in revolving doors,
all seeking to paint their pastures blue
the only one I'd follow is you.

Jesus people selling tickets to the gate,
forgive them for they know not what they do
I thank God every day for you.

The homeless and the criminal, who never meant to be,
swaring they will start life anew
me...I'm lucky, a life because of you.

The politicians, legal thieves, corruption and lies,
it's all about money, America's dull green hue
but I can see a rainbow of brilliant color in you.

A society strangled with remedies promising happiness
for the fat, old, lonely, poor, awaiting a psychic's cue
the only fixer-upper I need is a healthy dose of you.

Weakness, depression, and anger
me and misery once made company of two
but now I draw bits of strength from you.

I am who I am and you are who you are
because of what each of us has been through

as for me...I've come far
and from all tried and true

one of my deepest loves in life
is you.
