THE
M IND, MOVIES AND MEAT.IMHO.
What
is the mind?
It
is but a bundle of thought vibrations. Other than that it doesn’t exist.
How
does it become composite then?
It
really doesn’t, but the impression is given by the attraction of similar vibrations,
like beads on a string. The Ego or ‘I’ sense being the string.
Are
all thoughts our own?
Actually
no thoughts really belong to us, but we reach out and grab some and others
enter from elsewhere.
From
Elsewhere?
Yes
from sitting next to somebody on a bus or train, or sleeping next to people.
All is One; So thoughts, which are things move about. Our subtle Auras/Kosas or
sheaths are touching and even inter meshing. Also what we ingest through going
to movies or eating affects us. Violent images stay with us and food is the
most important agent. Meat is especially pernicious, for it contains the
vibrations of the animal mind. Also it contains the last thoughts, feelings and
vibrations of the death process. If this was a violent death, like in a slaughterhouse
or some other place where animals are killed for food; It is especially so.
These
vibrations of fear, resentment, confusion, anger, resentment, betrayal,
violence and hatred, come in the food. So it is not always germs and viruses we
have to worry about, so much, when raising children but what their minds and
bodies are going to be built of.
If
children are raised with these negative vibrations, they will always have
either the possibility of acting them out in some way or frustration.
This
is why the world is so violent and non compassionate.
So
the mind is somewhat like a programmed disc, it plays or uses what it has.
Rubbish in Rubbish out.
We
arrive at birth with a karmic destiny and karmic tendencies or samskaras in our
subtle ‘minds’. These can be left latent, uses somewhat or fed into full blown
vasanas or mental actions, resulting in certain actions. The fact that
everything is karmic at one level doesn’t mean we don’t have to act on
‘freewill’ illusion or not. However ingesting vibrations that are complimentary
to our own, build our minds. And they are not always complimentary but they do
tend to build complimentary attraction. So what we see, feel, eat, hear or
touch with ours senses builds our minds. In a world plane seething with vibrations,
programming ourselves in the positive is obviously important. Even more so for
a child. It is all to be able to rise above it all with one powerful thought of
one-pointedness. However we have to realise all is one, and compassion for all
beings must be developed. This is so the mind can develop in a good way and
lead to Liberation from even itself.
We
shoudn’t make value-judgments, that discriminate against other beings, human or
not. It is just as wrong to kill any animal as it is a human animal for
example. This happens due to a lack of discrimination and as a result of Ego.
This all comes from the mind that has been built, by adding to our tendencies,
input from extraneous forces and food…..Tony O’Clery.
