Students will research information about an element and convey the information to the rest of the students in the form of a poster, mobile, booklet or mediatext document.

ASSIGNMENT [50 points]
You will draw an element out of the periodic hat. Find out the following information about this element and convey the information to the rest of the in the form of a poster, mobile, booklet or mediatext document. (Check with instructor if you'd like to present in an alternate format)

REQUIRED INFORMATION: (42 points or a "B")
· (6pts) 1. Hand in, separate from the project, this sheet and a written bibliography of the three sources you have used. Staple to the bibliography the any printouts you have used from ELECTRONICALLY accessed sources [Internet].
· (2pts) 2. Check up .....all information accessed in library on your class visit to library.
· (4pts) 2. Name, symbol, and atomic number of the element.
· (3pts) 3. Source of the name/symbol
· (3pts) 4. Who discovered the element and when.
· (2pts) 5. Physical state of the element under room conditions [solid, liquid, gas]
· (10pts) 6. Five properties of the element
· (4pts) 7. How the element is found in nature (if it is found in nature, is it found as the element by itself, or in a compound or in a mineral?) and how it is obtained from its source in nature.
· (6pts) 8. Several key uses of the element
· (2pts) 9. Include your name and class period somewhere on the poster, mobile, booklet or mediatext
