1961 Candace Macku Fugate 2003 My fellow classmates, it is with great sadness that I report to you the untimely passing of one of our classmates. Candace Macku Fugate died 3/1/03 during emergency surgery after being stabbed in an act of senseless violence. REST IN PEACE CANDACE, GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU May your afterlife be more pleasurable than your earthbound life. Free of pain and suffering. Full of joy and laughter. May your family come to grips with your passing, and continue to persevere in your absence. May the person who is responsible for your leaving this existence, be held accountable to the fullest extent of man's law (he was sentenced to 14 yrs in prison, not long enough). God will judge him in his afterlife for final judgment. God rest your soul in peace. You will be missed, and never forgotten. Michael S. Davis |
Unless I receive a request to remove this memorial to Candace, I intend to keep it on this page. She was an important part of many peoples lives, and her memory should be kept alive. I didn't know her half as well as most of you, but out of respect to you that did, and Candace (Bless her soul), I feel it is proper to recognize this. |

THE ROCK, COURTESY OF THE CLASS OF 1979! |
Classmate Rob 'Gator' Kendrick fronts a band named BENT. They play some awesome R&R from the 70's to present and are definitely worth going to see. |
Not for nothing classmates, but, we are getting better (not just older) as such, how about this: Lori asked me to send this out here on this site as well as by email... Next year will be 30 years since we enjoyed our afternoons in LHS together. Should we have a 30th reunion next year or throw a big ole 50th birthday bash in 2011 or both? Contact Lori Blankenship Giometti to let her know what you would want. I vote for both, they're both worthwhile since they are both milestones in our lives. And Sean Donnelly - you better attend or Oak and I will take you hostage and force you to enjoy yourself. I love you Sean!!!! (uh oh Sean, looks like Lori wants you there!) ALSO The 30th reunion would be next summer - say June or July of 2009. I've already talked to a friend who owns a big sports bar and he said if we have 100 people he'll shut it down for us only - no fee. Lori and I agree on this one: I don't think we should try for a 3-day event. I think getting a bunch of people together on one night is a big enough task. Plus, if people want to get together beyond that night - they can all do it themselves. Mind you, the 3-day event we had for the 25th was pretty damned good overall, but it was taxing on the organizers!! Real life happens people!! |
