STAMPS OF YEMEN


This 1996 set of four commemorates the 50th anniversary of UNICEF. The 20 rials stamp shows two children with books, the 50 rials stamp, two girls who are clapping their hands, the 60 rials stamp depicts a mother and her child, while the 70 rials stamp shows a mother with three children.


This souvenir sheet accompanies the above set. It clearly shows the UNICEF moto "Children First!" and the 50th anniversary emblem. The 150 rials stamp depicts a child making jewelry.


This is the souvenir sheet that accompanies the 1996 "Birds of Yemen" set. Ixobrychus Minutus is depicted on the stamp.


This souvenir sheet was issued in honor of Naseem Hamed Kashmem, the world boxing champion, in 1995. The 50 rials stamp shows Prince Naseem in action.
