Great Trent River Raft Race
On June 11, 1977 a crew of eight intrepid sailors won the Great Trent River Raft Race aboard the Green Springs Crocodile, a pedal-powered raft constructed by the young folks who frequented the Green Springs Youth Club and by Club owner George Wetherington. Sponsors of the race included The Sun Journal, WRNB, and McDonald's.
