Babylonian Verse

Guidelines:

  1. Find a poem written in any European language that uses the Roman alphabet. (French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, etc)
  2. For each line in the poem, write a line of verse that mimics the original by using the same number of syllables, with words that resemble the original words, but do not necessarily mean the same.

My Poems:

Original:

La cucaracha, la cucaracha,
Ya no puede caminar
Porque no tiene, porque le falta
Marijuana que fumar.

The Babylonian version:

He cooked a teacher,
he cooked a teacher
You know cooked her all in tar
Because she lied, because she faltered
Man, is he tyrant Kumar!
