These beautiful cards seem to have been issued by the State Committee of Bavaria as an effort to raise funds for "Germany's Contributions for the Protection of Infants and Little Children". They appear to have been published through the Bavarian Art Institute. My mother received one of the cards and the date thereon was December 12, 1919. My guess is that these cards were a way to raise money to assist children in post-WWI Germany. If anyone has any other information about them, please let me know and I will add the new information to this page.
