Genetic Barley - 2nd Hand Data
The following information can be used to replace your own data for the experiment if you had difficulty getting the seeds to germinate, or some other grave misfortune arose. You will need to construct a reasonable manner in which to present these results. Tables, graphs, charts are a few suggestions.
The barley did not germinate until day 6. At day 7, 11 seeds germinated but of them only two shoots had unfolded and one of those was albino whilst the other was green. The albino one was 4 mm and the green one was 5 mm. At day 8, 16 seeds had germinated and of these there appeared to be 5 green ones and 1 albino. The maximum height of the green shoots was 6 mm, and the same for the albino. At day 9, 16 seeds had germinated, 8 are green and 2 are albino. Albino maximum height is 20 mm, and green maximum height is 16mm. By day 10 18 seeds had germinated and 3 are albino with a maximum height of 40mm, and 10 are green with a maximum height of 35mm. Roots are well embedded in the wool by this point in time. Day 11 has 19 seeds germinated. 4 are albino and 15 are green. Albino maximum height is 54mm and green maximum height is 49 mm. Day 14 has 20 seeds germinated and 4 are albinos with a maximum height of 113mm, and 16 are green with a maximum height of 101mm. Day 16 has 20 seeds germinated, with 4 albinos (130mm maximum) and 16 green (117mm maximum) Day 18 - still no more seeds have germinated, and both maximum heights are 162mm. Day 20 has the albino maximum height at 170, and the green height has overtaken it to 182mm. Day 21 has the albino seeds at 170mm and the green are now 190mm.
