My pets
Samson (aka Sammy, Sam, Samson-key, Sammy-key, Zoma, Kitten): Sam was my best friend for a long time 'til he passed away of kidney failure in June 1999. My family got Samson when he was an adult (we guess he was about 6 years old at the time) from the local SPCA. I highly recommend adopting adult cats, since they are already set in their personalities and don't need a lot of training. They tend to be overlooked at shelters since everyone wants a cute kitten. Sam was a big cat, but when he first came home, he was skinny as a rail. He had a huge appetite and got very big very quickly, so we named him Samson. Sam was an ornery cat when we first got him, since he lived in the alleys in Invermere. It took a while, but he warmed up to us and became a very loving cat. |

Sparky (aka Spark, Sparkles, Sparky Pup, Pup, Mutt, Muttley, Yaphead): Sparky is a Sheltie/Corgi cross who we rescued from the SPCA shelter. His previous owners gave him up because they were allergic to him. Sparky is a great little dog with a wonderful, loving personality. He loves running and my niece Sydney (see below) is one of his best friends. He was so hungry the day we brought him home, he ate a raw potato from the container we keep on the floor. Now, he does not suffer for food at all. He is loved by the entire family. Sparky was his original name. Personally, I wanted to name him Otis, but I was outvoted. |
