Wrestling
| I've been watching pro wrestling since I was a little kid
and I still love watching it. I grew up watching Stampede Wrestling out of
Calgary, broadcast each weekend on TV. Stampede featured greats like Bret
and Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman, Kensuke Sasaki, Mahkan Singh,
The Great Gama and so many others. I also watched the WWF during the
height of Hulk Hogan's popularity, but I was more attracted to the
Stampede style of wrestling: more wrestling and less "soap
opera" elements.
Until recently, I was quite embarrassed to still be watching wrestling after so many years, given the current sex and violence era. My guilty pleasure is now a full pleasure. I am a wrestling geek. And as I tell anyone who will listen, you should embrace your geekiness. Be proud to like something passionately to the point of distraction and mild obsession.
