[«Last] [Index] [Home] [Next»] In February 2002 the chapter had a flying visit from Ana de Balbuana, local representative of AFS San Lorenzo, Paraguay. Ana had acted as chaperone to Australia, and was on her way home, but spent three days in Auckland en route. This was organised by Karen Coronel from Paraguay, hosted in SAKL in 2000. George and Norma Lindsay very kindly billeted Ana, and met and farewelled her at the airport. Also treated Ana to a great BBQ dinner on the Thursday before departure. Language was tricky, as Ana spoke little English, and John, nominated by Karen as the official interpreter (!) had little practical Spanish. Many thanks to Rachel Cumberland, who enjoyed an evening of Spanish conversation, made Ana feel at ease, and helped plan a great day out for Ana around Auckland. Here are just a few pictures of Ana's visit, with a Tiki-Tour through Clevedon to Howick (and Willow Park).
Very many thanks to George and Norma for hosting and entertaining Ana, who had a wonderful stay, and left with very good impressions of South Auckland/Counties hospitality.
