New Website I have moved to a new domain due to space restrictions here. I have much more material posted at this new address. http://www.puluka.com

Here are my student material and related links for the adult education classes in Byzantine Spirituality, Theology & History.

If you have any problems, comments or other good material I should know about drop me a line.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
Glory forever!

All of the classes are designed for six sessions of about two hours each in the class room. Each session follows a chapter in the corresponding book published by "God With Us Publications", available through Theological Book Service. These are the official publications of the ECDD, the joint teaching arm for all Eastern Catholic jurisdictions in the United States. I would consider these text to be introductory level adult education.

I have posted here the slides I use for the lectures with my lectures. Also included is the full text of the lecture notes provided at the class. I strongly recomend the book as well. Ideally, one would read the chapter in the book, follow the lecture with slides, then read the student notes. I welcome questions or comments on any of this material.

Bibliography
Recomended reading and web links for further study.
Eastern Church History
From the founding of the church by the apostles to the struggles of our immigrant church in America we have a rich tradition to learn from.
Old Testament
The foundations of our faith are collecting in the Old Testament. This is the only scripture that Jesus and the Apostles knew, and they knew it well. Old Testament provides a timeless poetry of spirituality that enriches our lives even today.
Great Fast Educational sheets
Here are a series of six bulletin inserts based on the landmark book of Father Alexander Schmemon on the Great Fast.
Chant Manuscript
I recently aquired a Russian Chant manuscipt written prior to western music notation. The work is hand written in red and black. Images and more detail are found here.
