Napier
at Dawn
The marina and fishing fleet at
dawn
Looking across Westshore beach
toward the breakwater and deepwater port
Westshore beach looking across
the Heads at the marina entrance
And some shots around our local
area
A nearby lake with horses grazing
in the early morning mist I am not sure if they were domestic horses or
from the 'Kaimanua Wild Horses' which roam our central plateau
The New Zealand bush (forest)
is fabulous, rich, green and soft, - not to mention safe, since we have
no predators. Add the sound of our native pigeons, songbirds like Tui and
Bellbird, and you have a glimpse of what the garden of Eden may have been
like.
Alyce (aged 9) riding Pete's three
wheel farm bike. The rocky plateau in the background gives way to a gloriously
clear, safe, sandy beach 100 metres along. We have a caravan parked there
in summer, and often spend our weekends here; eating our own fresh caught
crayfish and Paua (Lobster and Abalone to the americans) and just kicking
back with the other regulars in the community.
