There is nothing in this entire world that makes me any madder than hypocrites. If I had the choice between a diseased rat and a hypocrite, I'd take the diseased rat.
There are a myriad of different types of hypocrites. There are political hypocrites (See my rant on politicians), there are wannabe hypocrites, and, the worst of all, religious hypocrites. Wannabes are just retarded, and usually grow out of it. Religious hypocrites are another matter.
I hate the pretentious bible thumpers who tell you how wrong you are without even taking an objective look at themselves. For an example of a wonderful hypocrite, there's a jerk named Tom who writes a page, www.capalert.com. It's worth a good laugh to go and check out the movie reviews, especially the one on the South Park movie.
Okay, back on topic. I know that almost everyone out there has had a bible thumper say something derogatory about their clothes, their language, their body piercing etc. They swear that satan is around every corner, they tell you you're going to hell if you say certain things or do certain things, and heaven forbid you tell them they're wrong. I'd like to take this opportunity to dispell a couple of their common statements right now.
Of course, body modification in any form is satanic (except, of course, if it's ears you're piercing... how stupid is that?). They get that from Leviticus, where it says flesh cutting should not be practiced for beauty. But if you look on the same page, it also says that you can't cut your hair, you can't wear clothes made of more than one kind of fabric, you can't plant more than one type of seed in your fields, etc. Isn't it funny that the people who tell you that you're satanic because of body mods are also breaking the same rules in the same book on the same page.
I also hate the fact that they all totally believe that their religious sect is the ONLY sect that will make it in heaven. I think that if anyone would take a honest look at every religion, they would find that most of them are very, VERY similar. In fact, the Islamic religion and that of Christianity are so similar, it's easy to say they're just the same religion under different management. The Muslims believe this too... the Christians do not.
I am a Christian, and I refuse to adhere myself to any one sect of the religion, because I don't like what they say. I like to interpret the Holy Bible the way I WANT. I don't want to hear anyone else's ideas. I want to read it and think what I WANT to think.
