My Views on Religion
I've heard your voices, my faithful visitors. You like my attacks on Christian hypocrites, but you also profess, again and again, that you are Christian. As if by attacking hypocrites that makes me faithless, or an Athiest, or at the very least not a good Christian. Well, maybe it's time I cleared the air and clarified my views for you wonderful people.
I was born to two wonderful people. Both of my Grandfathers, one living and one dead, are (or were) preachers. I used to go to church every Sunday with my Grandmother and Grandfather. I've got closet-fulls of the little frilly girl dresses to prove it.
However, as I got older, I became disinfranchised. Not with Religion, but with churches and church congregations, and with denominations in general. After my first Grandfather died, and the other one retired, I couldn't find anyone who preached a message I agreed with or thought of as correct. I couldn't find a church group that wasn't mostly composed of people who couldn't give a shit less about the message. They came to see what everyone else was wearing.
I decided to stop going. No point in me supporting an institution I didn't agree with or believe in. So I did the worship thing on my own. I interpreted the Bible my own way in my own time. And I felt very secure with my faith.
I admit it, I have a problem with the Bible. It is a sexist piece of literature written by men through inspiration from God... BUT WRITTEN BY MAN NONETHELESS. Even Jesus teaches that Men are not perfect. No one is. Want to see more about my feelings on the bible? Read my Correspondence with a Fanatic.
I also believe that there are so many similarities in the relgions of the world that in my opinion they are all related. I believe that God and Allah are one and the same. Of course, not many people agree with me but oh well, that's how I feel.
But I am a Christian. I formerly belonged to a denomination but I don't claim one anymore. I claim Christianity.
And that's how I see it.
