Adrift
Cassidy Melczak
I am cast adrift in a sea, storm tossed
Yet when I gaze upon you, I am no longer lost
Only your light shines over the dark sea
gleaming steady calling out to me
I sit idily by watching and waiting
My love for you grown never abating
I sit and dream, brooding always silent
While the sea rages on, growning biolent
You can drag me onto the distant shore
Never looking back at my past life before
I will serve you always for the rest of my life
You can help me through all my strife
Sometimes I impress myself. this was not one of them. I used to wonder if my poetry was too... sappy. The answer definately yes.
