Crux
Cassidy Melczak
Flames of hell thy blood dispel
Thou art of eternal life
For our ignorance we live in
Pain, suffering, and strife
Upon the cross 'twas our loss
Alas 'tis sad but true
Will You, can You ever forgive us
For the sins of the many and the few
Why, oh why did you have to die?
Hanging among the thieves
Our mistake, Your death
For us You died, yet who grieves?
Wood and nails, Thy pain assails
Crimson tears freely shed
Crown of thorns upon Thy brow
Alive still, risen from the dead
Without, within infused with sin
How can I redeem my life?
My heart dark, my blood cold
My soul cut by an unholy knife
I see no way my debt to pay
To redeem Your sacrifice
Rid me I pray
Forever of my evil vice
Now I see upon the tree
You hang there for my soul
Your life for mine
Your blood to make me whole
My life I must, to You give you trust
Tell others of your pain
Teach them I shall
So your death will not be in vane
I wrote this one because I thought I was leaving out a major part in my life in my poetry, Jesus. I don't remember much about writing this but I always kinda liked it.
