Happiness

Cassidy Melczak

Happiness is a two-edged sword
Wielded awkwardly like a board
Peace and joy, hope and love
Gently grace falls like a dove

The other edge somewhat darker indeed
Trapped by war, hate, darkness, and greed
For when you are high you must fall
As so must we, like the stars, like us all

Now what help have against our plight
Must we see the day only to fall to the night
No! Grab a dream and hold on for a ride
Like a life-line held tightly by your side

Just a nice little poem I wrote. Actually I wrote it because someone read some of my poems, and they wanted me to publish one or two, within forty-five minutes I whipped three new ones for her.
