The Kill

Cassidy Melczak

The huntress slips out of the shadows deep
Wandering, stalking, ready to hide, to creep
Waiting, she slowly slides out of the gloom
Silent she tenses, preparing a violent doom
She springs up still without stirring a sound
She spots her prey walking along the ground
Her claws come forth ready at her command
The air grows still; the time slows at the huntress' hand
The deadly daggers slip into soft warm flesh
Powerful claws, to scratch and kill, begin to mesh
Blood runs down in a bright red stream
The killer smiles, her eyes begin to gleam
The huntress grows hungry and begins to feed
Her manner poised to show her quick speed
Lightning fast she runs from the kill
Not yet satisfied, not reaching her fill
She ran looking for a fresh new prey
Dawn draws near as she melts into the gray
The huntress sleeps the daylight through
But be sure she will rise to hunt anew

This is a sequel to Demon, I wrote mainly because I got bored.
