The Dance

Cassidy Melczak

Join me my friend
To dance, to prance
Your hand Please lend
My dove my love

Journey here to my side
With speed take heed
Listen to your soul confide
Come here draw near

Together now we join
Hold me, be free
Two sides of the same coin
Hope gain, no pain

Cool shadow dark shell
Your light, so bright
Beauty after shroud fell
Bright night, gives sight

Hope now gleams bright and bold
Ideal to mold, never to fold
Healing, cleaning wounds of old
Precious as gold, forever unsold

You'll see only me
I'll be forever free
And now we can never flee
Protect me my eternal tree

This was written as a two-voice poem. Both sides go faster and faster until they finally mesh in the end. It seemed cool at the time, but now I really don't like it.
