FEVER REDUCING TEA

From Goddess Dee

Many herbs contain anti-inflammatory properties, which have been used successfully to help reduce fevers and ease aches and pains. A fever can be a sign of serious illness, and children under 12 or anyone with a fever that

persists for more than two days or goes over 104 degrees should be taken to the doctor. This recipe makes about six cups. It can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days. It reheats as well in the microwave as over the stove.

1 1/2 Tblsp black willow bark (omit if you are allergic to aspirin!)

1 1/2 Tblsp black elder (increase to 2 Tblsp if you are omitting the

willow bark)

1 tsp blessed thistle

1/2 Tblsp goldenseal

2 tsp echinacea

1/2 Tblsp linden flowers

1 1/2 tsp chamomile

Place the ingredients in a cheesecloth or large tea ball. Tie up the cloth or secure the tea ball and place it into 6 1/2 cups of boiled water. Allow to steep for at least ten minutes. This makes no claim to being the best tasting brew ever created, but it works well. You may add sugar, honey, or rice syrup if you wish. Take one cup every four to six hours as needed.
