LAVENDER COOKIES

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp dried lavender flowers, finely chopped
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla and lavender, and mix well.
Combine flour and baking powder and add to lavender mixture, stirring untill well blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned on the edges. Cool on baking sheet a few minutes then transfer to cooling rack. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
