[A View of Life, Morality and Ethics]

We must ask the question; am I responsible enough and do I have the financial and emotional stability necessary for raising children? If not, one must find the strength to control ones emotions and passions. We do have an advantage over other animals, in the sense, that we have the intelligence and technology at our disposal to provide for the health, safety and protection of our children, but if we do not have the emotional commitment, which is of greater importance, we end up sacrificing our future for the joys of the present.

Fortunately, there are nations in some parts of the world, who's traditions and culture, demands, that we provide the stable environment required for bringing up children. One could question the means by which they ensure success and compliance. For example, in many parts of Asia and the Middle East, there is the tradition of arranged marriages, where young men and women have no say in the matter of choice of husband or wife. The families make all of the arraignments with regard to, when and to whom of marriage. Whether this is right or wrong is debatable and most often varies from case to case. Sometimes the economic consequences of such an arrangement, especially for the bride's family could be devastating and in turn could effect the growth and survival of a nation. Fitness of the mind and body is important. If the body is not fit the mind will not function properly. Therefore keeping the body fit and healthy is essential. That means, we have to excercise regularly and have the necessary discipline regarding our eating habits-the what, when and how much. A healthy body means a healthy mind.

A VIEW OF LIFE, MORALITY AND ETHICS

A Way of Life most often translates into A View of Life, so much so, that they become interchangeable and either term could convey a similar feeling or emotion. My Existence or way of life could be defined by my views on life or visa a versa. My views, our a reflection of how I conduct myself both in public and private life, the decisions I make and the actions I take. My views also reflect, my standards or my values, how I perceive the world, in short a Way of Life. When we talk about views and ways of living we enter the realm of Morality and Ethics, often times with great trepidation and foreboding, for to define what is moral and ethical or what is right and wrong, in a completely objective and unbiased manner, is extremely difficult. Therefore when I say that a way of life is subjective and varies from individual to individual, I am implying that, not only are views of life subjective but what is moral and ethical (or right and wrong or good and bad) is also extremely subjective. My (and I stress 'my') morality and ethics reflect My way or view of life. Then, how does one derive an objective sense of what is right and wrong. Do the concepts Morality and Ethics have an Ideal form, which is, both Consistent and Continuous in nature.

One hopes that a way of life results in a view of life, for, if your way of life is different from your views there is a problem and could result in conflicts of interest. Some individuals by choice seem to prefer to keep the two concepts apart, for they believe that, they can benefit from such a spearation, in the material sense of course, such a behavior falls under the category of hypocrisy. Some have no choice in the matter and our forced to live a double life or a life of hypocrisy, where there is a conflict within the soul, the two being contradictory in nature.

The way of life I have chosen, as I have mentioned before, is one dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. It is an eternal quest with no end in site. It is freedom in thought and action where thoughts are action and where action means thinking, making thought and action one and the same. Such a life I believe to be far superior, in form, to any other. And if a way is similar to a view, you develop a superior view of life. It is my humble belief that just such a life comes closest to the Ideal form of or an objective view of what is Morality and Ethics, and is both consistent and continuous in nature. But I must stress that what I consider to be something Universal is a subjective proposition, it is my belief. To consider myself an authority in such matters would be foolish and irresponsible, a vain attempt towards boastfulness and arrogance. For I am still very much a novice and ignorant of such matters and I have a long way to go and "and miles to go before I sleep". To me this is just the beginning an introduction. But there is no harm in expressing oneself as long as it remains a thought and like I said before it is an attempt, hopefully a fruitful one, to express ones thoughts in a coherent manner for better understanding and learning, otherwise life (my life!) could become extremely frustrating and unfulfilled.(next page: Conclusions, derived from the Introduction)
